The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. The amazing Old Town and the Sultanahmet are home to iconic Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. More history is hidden in the Topkapi Palace, where you can glimpse the splendor and opulence of Turkey’s Ottoman heritage.
Take a stroll through the historic center or the busy Taksim Square before watching the sun set behind countless mosques and minarets. Local fish markets and numerous restaurants lining the bridge to Galata offer the Golden Horn’s daily catch.
If you prefer the fine art of bargaining to fine art, lose yourself in the Grand Bazar and maybe you’ll emerge with a hookah, some Turkish coffee, or even a carpet. The Spice Bazar further immerses you in the sights, smells, and tastes of Turkish culture.
Getting to Istanbul is an easy trip from Ataturk International Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel on the Asian side or a budget hostel in Taksim Square, Booking.com has over 1,000 great accommodations for a vacation in Istanbul.

A city with tons of history, heaps of character, and a deluge of tourists. Visited in May and everything was absolutely packed. Off the beaten path things are better and more authentic, but if you want to visit the highlights you need patience - and money, as ticket prices are somewhat high by most standards, unless you're Qatari, Emirati, or a Russian oligarch. Makes a stark contrast with things like the underground/metro, which are cheap, as they're designed with mainly the locals in mind (very efficient too).
Overall this is a bucket list-worthy trip to a unique city, but the number of tourists and the tourist-oriented prices found in many places detract from the experience.
Side notes:
Turning the Hagia Sophia from a museum into a mosque means that visitors can't access the ground floor, so you can't get a proper sense of the magnitude of the building. It also means that the first thing that strikes you when entering is the smell of feet. In fairness, I did visit just after the Friday prayer.
Attempts to accentuate the contributions of the Ottomans compared to those of previous civilisations ruling the city, range from amusing to cringe-worthy for a Greek (most egregious example probably being the Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum).
Never went past so many metal detectors in my life, although checks are often formulaic. Police/security forces are present everywhere where a tourist would likely roam. Makes one feel fairly safe, at the cost of also adding a slight sense of oppression.

We aimed to explore the historic center, and from our hotel, everything was conveniently close by. Purchasing the e-pass allowed us to effortlessly visit all attractions, with everything perfectly arranged. Each tour provided by the e-pass was seamless, granting us direct access to museums and palaces. I was pleasantly surprised by how well everything was organized. Any questions we had were promptly answered through WhatsApp. If you didn't have a ticket, booking online was simple, and you'd receive the QR code instantly for entry.

Between the Istanbul of 7 years ago (when I was a few days as a tourist) and the Istanbul of today, there are not many connections. The city is more or less the same, but more crowded and more tired. People are tense and stressed even though they try to smile. Some of them. The others see in tourists only milking cows asking for tips with a lot of insensitivity (only in Barcelona have I seen such rude waiters). The prices are huge and unfortunately I can no longer recommend Istanbul unless you have a lot of money and you have nothing to do with it.
Avoid restaurants in tourist areas and in general everything that is a bit touristy. No matter how hard you try to escape unscathed... at some point you will be victims. Too bad for this beautiful city that bad politics and inflation have brought to such a state. Do you want a breath of fresh air? Go to the new neighborhoods, to the marginal ones, go to the beach with the people of Istanbul. Do you want to see Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque? Next time.

One of the world's most beautiful cities.
One of the world's most beautiful cities. The Rome of the East!! Beautiful cites, great food, good wine, etc... Unfortunately, it is overrun with tourists, like most touristy places in the world these days, but well worth visiting.
We had an amazing time at this hotel. The location is very good, very close to Taksim square but in a quiet alley and the hotel is a very good choice for your stay in Istanbul. The room was very comfortable and clean and we had cleaning service every day. Breakfast was very tasty with small variations every day and the staff was very friendly, helping us with everything we needed. Especially Murat was the best host! Everyone was very kind and helpful and I totally recommend this place! We will be back for sure.
First of all, let me say that the hotel is in the very heart of Istanbul. From here, it is possible to walk to Taksim Square in just 10 minutes. If you come to Taksim, it can be said that Istanbul is yours. The hotel is in a perfect location. Breakfast is quite good. The employees are very good, especially ALI - we thank you very much, as Azerbaijanis. Thank you very much for your support. In short, anyone who wants to spend the night in an ideal place and walk around Istanbul can choose this place.
The location was perfect and strategic. 3-5minutes walk to Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. 10minutes walk to Sultanahmet tram station.
The breakfast floor has spectacular view (hagia sophia and blu mosque). Breakfast spread was good.
The bed was comfy, water pressure was good and the heater works well.
The owner was friendly and help us to book bosphorus cruise and activate our istanbul kart since we didnt know how to do it.
Definitely one of the best hotel during our trip!
Outstanding! The hotel is within walking distance from the centre, there are about ten rooms in total, in a neighbourhood very close to Taksim Square and Istklal street. I am a girl student and I came alone to visit Istanbul and look for an Erasmus flat while I was staying at Taksim Pandora Residence.
The owners are very helpful, any request was fulfilled in record time, the rooms were always clean and had everything I needed to stay comfortably, as in my case.
Although this is not a luxury 5 star hotel, it is very clean and comfortable and staff are very helpful.
Its a great location - easy to access the buses / metro to the centre and all the historical locations, as well as the ferries.
Berhan was also very helpful in helping me to obtain an Istanbul card , to be able to use the metro etc, and advised me about the local area and places to eat, as well as arranged my airport taxi efficiently.
It’s a nice hotel with the best location. In the middle of everything.Just a few steps to the famous shopping Istiklal street and 2-3 min walk to Taksim square.Hotel is super clean and tidy .Room you can find with nice furniture and all the necessary things are provided.Amazing people on the reception are super helpful and they meet you with such positive vibes which makes your stay in Istanbul more remarkable.
great location nice size room close to everything. we hopped off the bus from Istanbul airport spent one night here and
caught bus to the Asian side Airport which is a 5 min walk away(both busses stop at the same spot). the hotel is in a quite area and Taksim square is just around the corner, great spot to do some exploring. the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating like most hosts in Turkiye
The location is amazing, just near Taksim Square but far enough from the main traffic. The hotel is new, rooms are super clean, staff is beyond polite and helpful (special thanks to Manager Mr.Dogan), breakfast is nice, in front of the hotel you have a cafe, prices are really good for Istanbul which is getting more and more expensive so my overall impression is great and I can't wait to come back :)
The hotel was great.
Just 5 mins walk to Taksim square
The breakfast spread was pretty good, quite a number of options for vegetarians too.
The staff is fab, very warm, friendly and always at your service. Special shout out to Yunus and Ozcan for lending the Istanbulcart, it came handy to us.
Rooms are big, spacious and clean
Best hotel ever in Istanbul. Perfect location which near to Taksim Square, eateries, and public transport. Easy to go anywhere. Not hard to find the hotel. Clean hotel, good breakfast, spacious room and very comfortable. Nice and helpful staffs. Sure will stay here again if I come to Istanbul again. Totally satisfied 👍👍👍👍👍
The location is just great, few steps to the middle of the main street in Istanbul (Istiklal), between the famous Galata Tower and Taksim Square.
The Suite had a beautiful view on Istanbul until the Bosphorus. It was enough big and clean for a very comfortable stay.
The Hotel Manager and the Staff were very kind and helpful.
the location is one of the best, as I’m visiting Istanbul regularly over 10 years, this hotel has the best location, close to everything,
few steps from the airport bus station, and Taksim square, then Istklal St.
calm area, clean, multi shops around you,
excellent, polite and supportive staff.
the hotel is in the best location of Taksim square, the room is great, the owners are very nice people willing to help you in everything.
there is a washing machine to wash clothes.
breakfast amazing.
I will definitely go again on my next trip to Istanbul.
thank you very much for everything 🙏
I would say it is the most comfortable place among the places I have stayed in Istanbul. It is very close to Taksim square, from there it is convenient to go anywhere. The hotel managers are very caring, always interested and help in whatever you need.
Excellent hotel near Istanbul Airport. Clean hotel, all the amenities available. Friendly staff. Very new rooms. Great view. I really recommend this hotel for everyone who wants to stay near airport. They also arrange airport transfer with big van.
I am very glad that I chose Cezayir Rooms for my first visit to Istanbul. Excellent hotel at the best location. Near to Istiklal, Galata Port, Galata Tower, Taksim Square. Near to the trams going to Sultan Ahmet. Near to Karakoy Ferry Station.
It is one of the best 3 star hotels in istanbul, I liked everything: location, cleanliness, hygiene, services, and employees. Thanks Mr Dawood for your kindness and help.
Definitely, I will come back to this hotel.
Location of the hotel was walking distance from Taksim Square and Osmanbey.
Staff were so nice and this is a big difference in a multicultural destination like Istanbul.
The room had ac.
The breakfast was top.
Nice comfortable hotel only in 5 minutes by walk to the Airport bus and 3 minutes to the Taksim Square. Clean rooms, good breakfast. Perfect option for 1-3 days stay in Istanbul.
